Kendriya Vidyalaya PM SHRI KV CMM Jabalpur is proud to be one among the 500 schools identified nationwide by AIM (Atal Innovation Mission) under NITI Aayog, Govt. of India for establishment of Atal Tinkering Labs. ATAL Tinkering Lab (ATL) is a work space where young minds can give shape to their ideas through hands on do-it-yourself mode; and learn innovation skills. Young children will get a chance to work with tools and equipment to understand the concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). ATL would contain educational and learning ‘do it yourself’ kits and equipment on – science, electronics, robotics, open source microcontroller boards, sensors and 3D printers and computers. . Fostering creativity in the minds of children and thereby converting the students from users to makers is the key aim of ATL. ATL will be organising various events and challenges to meet its aim like Ideathons, mini challenges, Hackathons, Maker Challenges, Inter school contests and more. The programmes will enable the students to think about the problems faced by society and come up with suitable solutions; no matter how complex it may appear ATL is equipped with all necessary components as well as 3D printers, vinyl cutters and the like to construct things as per the need and design conceived by the student innovators. The ATLs are ready to make the students say “I CAN” when it comes to solving problems. Sharing the ideas without fear and making it possible to realize the ideas and training them in design thinking will be done at ATL. Hope that all students at PM SHRI KV CMM Jabalpur and the neighbouring schools will utilise the facility and eventually join hands in making this planet a better place to live in.
